Successful candidates will work across various business units, gaining hands-on experience while developing professional and technical skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  • Possess a Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Have completed a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree, National Diploma, or Honours qualification in one of the following fields:
    • Commerce
    • Accounting
    • Information Technology
    • Clinical Medical Associate
    • Bachelor of Nursing Science (BCur)
    • Data Science
    • Mathematics and Statistics
    • Computer Science
    • Software Engineering
  • Be fluent in English (additional South African languages will be advantageous).
  • Demonstrate professionalism, strong administrative abilities, and good time management skills.
  • Not currently be employed or participating in another internship programme.
  • Possess basic computer literacy and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will gain exposure to:

  • Medical aid correspondence and member communication.
  • Claims assessment processes.
  • Member subscriptions and administration.
  • Clinical administration functions.
  • Underwriting and new member applications.
  • Various operational and business support functions.
  • Formative and summative assessments throughout the programme.
  • Customer service and stakeholder engagement as PPSHA ambassadors.
