This structured 3-year apprenticeship combines workplace experience with technical training, providing successful candidates with the opportunity to develop into qualified Technicians within the Agricultural, Construction, and Forestry industries.

Duties and Responsibilities
Successful apprentices will:
- Assist with servicing, maintenance, and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
- Participate in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault-finding processes.
- Gain experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Support qualified technicians in workshop operations.
- Assist with stock and parts control.
- Perform workshop administration and housekeeping duties.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Provide customer service and technical support.
- Participate in product-specific technical training programmes.
Training and Development
During the programme, apprentices may be required to:
- Attend practical and theoretical training sessions.
- Complete distance-learning modules where applicable.
- Participate in supplier and manufacturer training programmes.
- Attend internal technical development initiatives.
- Complete trade-related assessments and practical evaluations.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have completed Grade 12 (Matric) or currently be completing Matric.
- Have Mathematics, Technical Mathematics, N2 Mathematics, or Engineering Mathematics as a subject.
- Note: Mathematical Literacy will not be considered.
- Possess a valid driver’s licence or be actively working towards obtaining one.
- Be computer literate.
- Have good communication skills.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in mechanics, machinery, and the agricultural industry.
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

- Mechanical Technology.
- Diesel Trade Theory.
- Motor Trade Theory.
- Agricultural Technology.
- Exposure to farming or agricultural machinery.
- Previous mechanical experience.
