About the Internship
The Ehlanzeni District Municipality invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Laboratory Internship Programme within the Community Services Department. The programme aims to provide workplace experience and improve employability for young graduates.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Have Grade 12 (Matric).
- Possess a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Microbiology
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office 365.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ISO 17025 will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will gain experience in:
- Water testing procedures.
- Laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
- Laboratory safety and chemical handling.
- Preparation of reagents, standards and laboratory solutions.
- Recording, analysing and reporting laboratory results.
- Understanding water quality standards and environmental regulations.
